Missed Connections in Asheville
This’ll never happen but your name sticks so sweet in my throat
that I wish I could kiss you,
your two, perfect syllables
sliding across my lips and into yours
I love finding poetry and creative writing on missed connections but I also get a real charge out of discovering “accidental poems.” These would be messages probably intended as a simple note but containing a beautiful, lyrical quality to the writing. Members of the Poetry Police might try to define and systematize how and why words should be classified, but I don’t go for none of that. Your Name is a love poem of the best kind, the real kind.
