One Year Ago: Missed Connection Austin, TX: You Found My Mail

Her Two Cents from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle-Finder:

Lovelorn Poets her two cents iconWhile this message could certainly have been written for a human, when I read it I was reminded of a person missing the dog they’d take for a walk every day. Whether our friends are of the two or four-legged variety, it’s certainly not the same when they are no longer with us to share those routine, everyday events. This photo from ChevallieR of a walk along a wet Parisian street was a natural fit.

Missed Connections in Boston, MA: I Miss My Ex-Boyfriend’s Dog

I Miss My Ex-Boyfriend’s Dog
Missed Connections in Boston

The way he snores,
wipes his boogers on my pants,
plays catch with himself,
runs head first into walls…

If you’re reading this, pal, (step) mommy misses you!!!

Missed Connections in Sacramento, CA: I Love You

Missed Connections in Sacramento, CA

She Loves Me Not by Corey Butler

I Love You
Missed Connections in Sacramento

I love you. I love you. I love you.
The only thing we can talk about these days are the dogs but I have to say:
I love you.
I think I always will.
I know you don’t feel the same and that you’ve moved on.
But I love you anyway. Be happy.

NOTE FROM THE MISSED CONNECTIONS CHIEF BOTTLE FINDER:

Today we’re featuring three missed connections messages from the Sacramento MC. I selected this photo by Corey Butler to accompany the message because the dog’s expression is so sad!  There’s something in the angle and focus that really pulls the old heartstrings – much like the note from our Sacramento poet. Our writer may be hurt today but perhaps a new “forever home” is in store for both of them.

Missed Connections in Raleigh-Durham, NC: My Dog Noticed You Before I Did

Missed Connections in Raleigh-Durham, NC

1933 Woman Dog Model A Ford by Doc Searls

My Dog Noticed You Before I Did
Missed Connections in Raleigh / Durham / CH

I was walking the dog Sunday morning near the corner of St. Mary’s and Morgan Streets and my dog froze.
I was walking ahead and it took me a while to notice she froze to stare into your car, and she wouldn’t move.
Something about you fascinated her enough to look at you the whole light cycle while I tried to move her on across towards Boylan.
You started laughing and I saw that beautiful smile in my head all day.
Contact me with the kind of car you were driving if you might be interested in hanging out with the puppy, and me.

NOTE FROM THE MISSED CONNECTIONS CHIEF BOTTLE FINDER:

Can I tell you how much I love this old photo that Doc Searls has on his Flickr page?  Just looking at it makes me feel good! What happy, healthy pup doesn’t respond favorably to a warm smile and a possible car ride? Let’s hope our lovelorn poet and their four-legged furry friend have many fun travels with the laughing driver.

Note from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle Finder:

The Ithaca of New York should not, in any way, be confused with the Greek island by the same name. While the later is known for it’s ancient roots and Homeric heroes, the former is a bustling university town with an above average share of scientists, engineers, and individuals with more years of schooling than they probably know what to do with. The MC for this community is moderately active and always good for reading. Today we feature a sampling of what you’ll find there.

Your Dog Ate Your Shoe, And I Didn’t Get Your Number
Missed Connections in Ithaca, NY

I had the courage to introduce myself to you outside Petsmart, but not the courage to ask for your number. Oh Mandy, I do hope your doggy survives the ingestion of your dancing shoe. I truly do! You are beautiful and I hope to talk to you again someday. Maybe you or friends of yours will see this and be kind enough to let me know how I can contact you? I can only hope…
