Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained
Missed Connections in Little Rock
I was with a guy friend, having lunch.
You were our server and I found you to be completely adorable.
I wrote on the ticket when I paid the bill.
I wanted to put my phone number but my pen wasn’t working well and I didn’t want you to not be able to read it.
Nor did I want to be presumptuous.
I’m a bit old-fashioned when it comes to the dating game.
I know this is such a long-shot, but like my posting title, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
If you read this, and are interested, tell me what I wrote on the receipt.
Her Two Cents from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle-Finder:
It’s been a loooong time since we’ve featured a missed connection from Little Rock and I thought this would be a good message to re-introduce them. I have a bit of a soft spot for the everyday, almost mundane stories. Who hasn’t been in a restaurant, cafe, or bar and had thoughts similar to that of our poet? Regardless of your gender or orientation, “nothing ventured, nothing gained” are good words to keep in mind – if you never ask the question, “No” is the only answer you’ll ever get!
