Her Two Cents

Those of us with pets know how loyal and concerned they can be during troubled times – a furry, four-legged version of a best friend or committed partner. But like those fickle humans who end one relationship to pursue a new, sparkly toy, every day thousands of loving cats and dogs are “dumped” unceremoniously by their owners who no longer want to care for them. For the lucky ones, an animal shelter will provide basic care and hopefully find them a new home – but the heartbreak is theirs.
